DNA metabarcoding workshop at Ashoka

The Department of Environmental Studies hosted a workshop on DNA metabarcoding for ecologists and disease biologists. The workshop was conducted by Dr. Abhinav Tyagi, post-doc at NCBS, a molecular ecologist who is interested in studying genetic connectivity in multiple taxa of conservation concern.

The workshop was attended by participants from Ashoka University and Shiv Nadar University. The workshop covered conceptual basics of DNA barcoding and metabarcoding techniques and their applications in wildlife ecology. The workshop also included hands-on sessions on post-sequencing processing. Keep an eye out for more training opportunities at Ashoka University.
